Abstract


The problem of the boom of the oil extraction in different countries of the world is evident, the workings of crude oil exploitation have not been carried out following the standards that govern this activity since the wastes produced are sometimes dumped directly into the nature incurring a Non-responsible disposal or casualties such as the rupture of transport pipelines generated by the spillage of large quantities of crude oil, affecting the delicate balance of nature. It should be emphasized that in general the oil extraction work is located in complicated areas of access, which makes it difficult to carry out remediation work. This is why an analysis was carried out to identify variables involved in the air pollution process, specifically pollutants produced by Heavy metals and PAH’S (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) that are present in petroleum. This study involved the analysis of the publications of different authors (books, scientific articles, theses, reports). It was considered a population of 200 publications concerning oil pollution in the world, analyzing the study carried out by each author and determining potential air pollutants. The data were tabulated through a logistic regression analysis that allows obtaining an equation that defines the probability of air pollution.

El problema del auge de la extracción de petróleo en diferentes países del mundo es evidente, las labores de explotación de crudo no se han realizado siguiendo los estándares que rigen dicha actividad puesto que los desechos producidos en ocasiones son vertidos directamente a la naturaleza incurriendo en una eliminación no responsable, o casos fortuitos como la ruptura de ductos de transporte que genera el derrame de grandes cantidades de crudo de petróleo, afectando el delicado equilibrio de la naturaleza. Es de recalcar que en general las labores de extracción de petróleo se localizan en zonas complicadas de acceder lo que dificulta labores de remediación. Es por ello que se realizó un análisis para identificar variables que intervienen en el proceso de contaminación del aire, específicamente contaminantes producidos por metales pesados y HAPS (Hidrocarburos Aromáticos Policíclicos) que se encuentran presentes en el petróleo. Este estudio incurrió en el análisis de las publicaciones de diferentes autores (libros, artículos científicos, tesis, informes). Se consideró una población de 200 publicaciones referentes a contaminación petrolera en el mundo, analizando el estudio realizado por cada autor y determinando potenciales contaminantes del aire. Los datos se tabularon mediante un análisis de regresión logística que permite obtener una ecuación que define la probabilidad de contaminación del aire.
